Terminology

Consciousness
Ability of an individual to be aware of its own existence, thoughts, consequences – necessary for objective understanding.

System
Group of people who invest their resources in a single common which is chosen by them or coerced on them.
Synonym: Collective.

Openness
Ability of individuals in power to modify their decisions based on feedback from those under their power.

Centralization
System in which some individuals are influenced by decisions of other individuals.

Hyper-centralization
System in which many individuals are influenced by decisions of much smaller number of individuals.

Narrative
Malleable values accepted by individuals and created and modified by content.
Synonym: Culture.

Generalized narrative
Narrative which has less information.

Grand narrative
Narrative used by systems which include large number of individuals.

Speed of change
Speed at which a system is changed, therefore changing behavior of its members.

Hyper-change
Contemporary rate of change too fast to include empirical or traditional knowledge in risk reduction.

Technocracy
Centralized system in which decisions are informed dominantly by empirical knowledge.
